INTRODUCTION

MOTIVATION

The first time I picked up a camera, I was five years old and on a trip to Disney World. It wasn't anything special, and I wasn't trying to do anything special. I just wanted to get photos of things that entertained me. However, after re-finding that camera, I returned to look at the pictures years later. I saw those old photos as more than just tools for amusement; they were windows to memories. Photography to me is taking moments and encapsulating them forever as memories.

EXPIRENCE

I started out photographing what I knew: macro and texture-based Photography, wildlife, flowers and botany, and abstract subjects that I'd use to develop my editing skills. In my three years in the High School Yearbook, one of the main objectives was to capture the events of that year. I captured numerous events such as school-sponsored concerts, plays, tailgates before school sports, and dances. In the summer of 2023, I pursued action and sports Photography on a more professional level. I became my high school's main sports photographer. I captured both boys and girls swimming, diving, soccer, basketball, lacrosse, mountain biking, and football. I had the opportunity to photograph several Regional and State championship games. I have since taken my photo talents freelance and gone to college as a part of the James Madison University Sports Photography team. At JMU, I have photographed numerous men's and women's D1 sports such as soccer, football, basketball, baseball, volleyball, golf, swimming, diving, track, and field. Most notably, I have photographed JMU vs. Ohio State University in the first round of the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship. For fun, I take part in photographing modern life.
